Biggin Hill Festival 2016

I am pleased to give you information concerning Biggin Hill Festival  2016.

As usual the aim is to have events organised by, and for, the people of Biggin Hill and the surrounding districts.

Charities and voluntary organisations can increase public awareness and raise money in a variety of ways, either at the Festival Fair, or by their own event during the Festival period, late June until the middle of July.

The Festival Fair is held on the first Saturday in July, that’s the 42nd this year, in the Recreation Ground.

The Fair starts at 12:30 and draws to a close at about 4:30pm.

To supplement the efforts of stallholders the Festival Team will book a variety of features, displays and demonstrations to ensure a true family atmosphere throughout the afternoon.

It is not intended to have a great  car boot sale at the Fair, so please give careful consideration to your proposed activities and look for innovations.

The total proceeds from your participation at the Fair are for the benefit of your cause.

As part of our hiring agreement with the Council the supply of food and drink for immediate consumption cannot be allowed other than those designated by the Festival Team, and notified to the Council in advance.

So as to add to the diversity of attractions, bookings by companies and persons operating for personal gain may be accepted at the discretion of the Festival Team.

A single plot is 4 metres wide, enough room for two pasting tables, and has the space for a gazebo and all the car parking you need.

You can have as many plots as you can fill and pay for.

For charities and non-profit organisations the charge is      £5.00  per plot

For companies and personal gain the charge is                   £20.00  per plot

There are just 100 plots available.  They will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

A display of locally owned cars, motorcycles and machinery for public admiration will be one of the Festival Fair attractions.  Rick Easter is organising the display as usual, so expect to see some good  exhibits.

Organise your own event, either as a feature or display at the Festival Fair, or as an independent event during the Festival period. Let us know, as a matter of urgency, just what you are planning, so that we can give you publicity in the Festival Programme, our press releases and promotional material. The deadline for copy to be included in the Programme is Sunday, March 13th.

This will be printed by Charles Darwin School. About 5000 copies, with a cover price of 25p, will be distributed  to those taking part at the Fair, well before the event. You can have as many copies as you wish, free of charge, for you to sell for the benefit of your own funds. There will be a free to enter competition, sponsored by Biggin Hill Airport, within the programme booklet, with the top prize of  £100,  so as to encourage purchasers.

I do hope that you will take this opportunity to promote your organisation through the Biggin Hill Festival.

With limited plots available it is essential that you register as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

The final date for applications is Sunday, May 15 th, in order to meet licensing deadlines.

I hope to hear from you very soon.
