Southern Gas Networks (SGN) have started a gas replacement project in Sunningvale Avenue, in between the junctions of Melrose Road and Norheads Lane. SGN are currently working under temporary two way signals. This is on the quieter part of Sunningvale Avenue and is apatently causing very little traffic disruption.
SGN are working their way towards the Stock Hill/Norheads Lane roundabout and will then be continuing their replacement along Sunningvale Avenue towards Ricketts Hill Road. All of their works will be managed under temporary traffic lights.
The Norheads Lane/Stock Hill roundabout will be a sensitive part of the project as temporary four way signals will be in operation on this section. SGN will be working on this section for approx four-five weeks and they have agreed that they will manual operate the lights during peak times to minimise delays. This section on the roundabout is expected to be start next month (April 2017).
Once SGN have processed further with their works in Sunningvale Avenue, they will be able to confirm their start date for the temporary four way signals and Bromley Council will be able to pass this on to you. Bromley have advised SGN that they will need to provide advanced warning signs 1-2 weeks before their works start on the roundabout to pre-warn motorists.
