From Bromley Council –
Southern Gas Networks (SGN) need to replace gas mains in Farnborough Hill and Shire Lane at the end of May 2016. Whilst the replacement works are taking place, Shire Lane will be closed to traffic from the junction with Farnborough Hill to Beechwood Avenue. Traffic will be diverted via Westerham Road A233, Croydon Road A232 and Farnborough Common/Farnborough Way A21.
Whilst this closure is in place, Farnborough Hill will also have a directional closure between the junctions of Farnborough Way A21 and Contessa Close, Farnborough. This means that a temporary one way system will be in operation on this part of Farnborough Hill. This direction closure will only affect Westbound traffic, meaning that traffic on the A21 will be unable to enter Farnborough Hill (West Arm) and will instead be diverted up Farnborough Way A21, Farnborough High Street, onto Farnborough Hill. Traffic will still be able to exit onto Farnborough Way A21 from Farnborough Hill at all times. The rest of Farnborough Hill will be unaffected and will remain open to two way traffic.
We are proposing for these works to take place over the May school half term week when the roads are slightly quieter. Works would start on Saturday 28/05/2016 and would run until Sunday 05/06/2016. Out of the nine days, this would mean SGN would be working four weekend days, one bank holiday (Monday 30/05/2016), affecting just four standard working week days. Southern Gas Networks will also be working extended hours with the aim to complete works as soon as possible.
