TfL to introduce fixed stops instead of hail and ride on R2 route

From TfL –

Between 8 November and 20 December 2016 we consulted on proposals to introduce fixed stops in place of the hail and ride facility in Biggin Hill Valley on route R2. Thank you to everyone who responded.

We received 65 responses to the consultation, including four responses from stakeholders. Of the 61 public responses, 34 per cent supported or strongly supported the proposed changes, eight per cent neither supported nor opposed them, 41 per cent opposed or strongly opposed and 16 per cent didn’t answer.

After careful consideration of all of the consultation responses, we plan to install the new fixed stops on route R2 and extend the bus cage in Kings Road as proposed.

We will work with the London Borough of Bromley to implement these changes in summer 2017.

We will not be moving bus stop C in Norheads Lane away from Stock Hill roundabout. Bus stop C was included on the maps for completeness. We apologise for any confusion this may have caused.

Further details on the how people responded to the consultation and our responses to the issues raised can be found on our website at: https://consultations.tfl.gov.uk/buses/route-r2
